Enjoy a great day out at this beautiful wildlife reserve and international award winning visitor attraction, located in Barnes, South West London. 45 hectares of wide open spaces, alive with wildlife and birds from around the world.

The London Wetland Centre’s mosaic of pools, lagoons, reed beds, marshes and meadows provides a haven for hundreds of species of birds and wetland creatures. It is also home to some of the world’s most spectacular ducks, wading birds, geese and swans.

We will have a general guided tour to discover an insight into the centre’s history and its wildlife. You can then follow the suggested walks on level paths. There are beautiful easy walks among lakes, ponds , gardens and reed beds. Visit the hides around the lake, ponds and lagoons. As well as the collection of water birds from round the world, there are also Asian short-clawed otters.

There is a cafe serving a selection of hot and cold food and drinks, or you can take a picnic.

There is free car parking on site. The nearest rail station is Barnes, 15 min walk from the centre.
